Ronald "Ronnie" Vaught Obituary

In Loving Memory of Ronald “Ronnie” John Vaught

Ronnie Vaught, 83, of Deer Park, TX passed away in the early morning of May 14, 2025 to be with his Lord and Savior in his heavenly home.
Born December 31, 1941 in Mena, Arkansas, Ronnie was the beloved child of Haskell and Grace Vaught and one of nine siblings. After graduating high school, he moved to Pasadena, Texas, where he married the love of his life, Sandra. He worked in operations for Diamond Alkali, retiring from Geon after 39 years of dedicated service.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sandra, his daughter Lisa Mayer and husband Rene, daughter Kelli Swanner, and son Jay Vaught and wife Cheryl. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by granddaughters Kassi Weaver and husband Eric, Kristen Moore and husband Mike, Ava Vaught, Haley Mayer, and Andi Vaught; and great-grandchildren Easton and Nash Weaver and Kelsi Moore. Ronnie is also survived by sisters Barbara Obenberger, Judy Hines and Kathy Clyma, as well as brothers-in-law John Naquin, Steven Naquin and wife Sharon, and Chuck Klafka, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Haskell and Grace Vaught, brothers C.B. and Tony Vaught, sisters Freddie Ayres, June Hiaumet and Virginia Klafka, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mamie and Harold Naquin. Ronnie was a long-time member of Deer Park First Baptist Church and part of the Silver Set department. He declared his profession of faith as a teenager and lived his life accordingly. Ronnie had two true passions: family and golf. He was a selfless family man with a true servant’s heart and an unwavering love for his family. He was always present at his children’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s events, which brought him great joy. Ronnie was also an avid golfer, scoring a legendary 10 holes-in-one in his lifetime. Although he golfed at numerous courses over the years, he played two to three times a week at Battleground Golf Course with his favorite golfing buddies, “Sonny’s Bunch”, since his retirement in 1999. Ronnie will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud “Pa,” and a man who lived fully, laughed often, and loved deeply. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 29, 2025 at Deer Park First Baptist Church. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am. The family welcomes all to join us in honoring his remarkable life.
