Ryan Maziol Obituary

Ryan Alexander Maziol, beloved son, brother, and grandson, passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 13, 2026, at the age of 15. He was born on March 31, 2011, in San Bernardino, California, and was baptized into the Orthodox Christian Church in June 2022. He remained faithful in attending Orthodox Church services until the end of his life.

A military brat, Ryan was raised in Corona, California; Columbus, Georgia; and Belton and Huffman, Texas. He especially cherished his time in Georgia, where he learned to fish, hike, tend to horses, and go on trail runs with family and friends.

Ryan was brilliant and fearless. He loved chess, fishing, coding, art, playing video games, and spending time with his family. If there was a board or card game nearby, you could expect him to want to play it with you. Kind and loving to everyone he met, he always saw the beauty and good in the world. He was truly a servant of God who placed service to others above all else.

Ryan was a devoted animal lover. He adored his dogs, chickens, horses, and donkeys, but held a special place in his heart for his cats—especially his beloved cat Tater. His gentle connection with animals revealed the depth of his kind soul. He often fished in the family pond while his animals played around him. Ryan also had a green thumb and was one of the few in the family who could successfully grow plants. Ryan was a true steward of the earth and its creatures.

A huge fan of videogames like Minecraft and Roblox, Ryan often decorated his room and bookcase with their characters. He loved watching YouTube videos and playing on his Xbox, frequently inviting others to join him. With a voracious intellect, deep curiosity, and gentle nature, Ryan had a gift for helping others and getting to the heart of what mattered. He was often the first to notice when someone was hurting and would offer just the right word or action to soothe their soul.

Ryan is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ken Maziol and Jerry Clanton.

He is survived by his loving parents, Christina and Dan Maziol, and his cherished sisters, Miranda and Ashley. He also leaves behind his aunts and uncles: Aunt Jennifer and her children, Sophia and Adrian; Aunt Stephanie and her children, Michael, Zachary, and Jeremy; his other Aunt Jennifer and her sons; Uncle Joe Maziol; Uncle Josh Hardy and his children; his grandmothers, Christine Maziol and Alicia Clanton; his Godparents, Elias and Teddi Grier; and many other cousins and extended family members.

Ryan was deeply loved by his parents and family. He is prayed for daily and will never be forgotten. His memory lives on in the hearts of his family, his Orthodox Church community, and all who knew and loved him. May his memory be eternal.
