Sharon Crump Obituary

Sharon Ann Wilde was born on November 2, 1950, to Eugene and Naomi Wilde.  She was born in Temple, TX and was raised there until she moved to Pasadena, TX in 1966 after her father got a job working for the airport. She went on to graduate from Pasadena High School in 1969.

While working at Big Tex Western Wear she met Curtis Crump. They soon fell in love and married on June 21, 1969. Sharon loved Curtis’ children, David and Barbara, like they were her own. They shortly added to their growing family with their daughter Leslie and son Steven.  They were married for 45 years until Curtis passed away in 2014.

For many years Sharon was a stay-at-home wife. She took her role as the matriarch very seriously. At an early age Sharon learned to be a hard worker. She always made sure her house was clean, the clothes were washed and starched, handled all the daily chores, and was room mom for her children’s classes, among many other things. Sharon was no ordinary wife. She had great aim with her rifle and could out shoot her husband and son. She could field dress a deer in the morning and prepare a home cooked meal for her family that night.  She was always willing to roll up her sleeves and do whatever the task entailed.

She went above and beyond every day to ensure her family’s needs were met.  She took pride in teaching her children right from wrong, and making sure they did their best. She poured her heart and soul into her home and family and made sure that everyone always felt loved and welcomed.

In the late 80’s she started working for Bayshore Hospital as a Sterile Processing Tech and worked there for over 25 years before she retired.  Once she retired, she spent her time relaxing by doing crafts, gardening, feeding the birds, and watching her grandchildren grow. She also loved her pets and spent time making sure they were very well taken care of.

Sharon enjoyed cooking and shared her creations with family and friends.  She was most known for her delicious pies.  Everyone loved her pies and she loved making them and seeing the joy they brought to others.

She was a kind, gentle, caring person who always put others needs before her own. Anyone that knew her could see what a strong, compassionate, and giving person she was.

Sharon passed away on November 16, 2023, at the age of 73. She dedicated herself to being a loving mother and a devoted wife. Let us remember her not with sadness, but with the joy she brought into our lives, the lessons she taught us, and the love she shared with us.

Sharon is survived by her mother Naomi Wilde; sons David Crump and wife Marla, Steven Crump and wife Liz; daughters Barbara Hebert and husband Don, Leslie Fitzhenry; ten grandchildren: Danny Crump, Chris Dennis and wife Julianne, Tiffany Sturman and husband Jon, Troy Dennis, Jennifer Crump, Candace Howard and husband Matt, Sean Crump, Devin Fitzhenry, Mayson Crump, Wyatt Crump; eleven great-grandchildren: Hunter Dennis, Haven Crump, CJ Crump, Coleson Dorsett, Conner Dennis, Ella Sturman, Gavin Sturman, Raeleigh Dennis, Cooper Dorsett, Annabelle Howard, Ashton Howard; two great-great-grandchildren: Axyton Boles, Beaux Dennis, and a host of loving family and friends.
