William was born on June 7, 1936 in Crawford, Texas. He moved around with his family all around the Waco, Texas area until he was 17. William passed away at the age of 88 years old on May 22, 2025, in Pasadena Texas .
William was preceded in death by Parents William and Mary, Brothers Olan and Nolan wife Betty Jean, Daughter and Son-In-Law Mary and Jerry Fojt, and Grandson David Reece Saulter. William was married to Betty on October 11, 1953 and remained married for 68 years until her parting. They lived in Waco, McLeod, Houston, Riesel, Pearland and Canyon Lake and Pasadena,
Texas throughout their marriage. They have four children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is survived by two sisters Jobretta Curtis, and Yvonne Hollister. Sister in Laws Cyble Saulter and Jamee Parker; Children Patricia Dear, David Saulter, and Towana and Roger Krenek; Grandchildren Britney and Chris Fourman, Emily and Patrick Lindsay, Candace Krenek and Samuel Birdsall, Jackie Saulter, Great grandchildren Emma Jean Fourman, Lorenzo Alexander Birdsall and Parker Kash Lindsay, and many nieces and nephews. He attended church at The Home Church of Clear Lake, Pastor Jay Hilton. In Lieu of flowers, He would have requested donations sent to The Home Church of Clear Lake, marked for use in Missions department. William loved the truth and promoted it everywhere he could. William surrendered his life to Jesus in the 80’s and never wavered from the truth.
William was a commercial plumber and a member of the plumbers local 68 in Houston. When you look at the Houston skyline you will see many buildings he put his handprint on. He was a hard worker and achieved the nickname “WarHorse”. The people who worked with him or under him remember him for his work ethics and character He began working at 5 years old in the fields, working at the school to pay for his and his siblings lunches. He began mowing the cemetery on a regular basis at the age of 8 and many other jobs. He never stopped working. When he retired he went on to work full time on his small cattle farm in Riesel Texas. He worked there until he was in his mid 70’s and he knew when it was time to hang it up. He moved back to Pasadena, Texas where he would be with family.
He loved and cared deeply for his pastor and church family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were held closest to his heart. He was known for being a strong man with a lot of character and wisdom.
Funeral service will be June 7, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at The Home Church of Clear Lake, 18096 Kings Row, Suite D and E Houston, Texas 77058
