It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Zaide Josey, 74 years old, who passed away at home on June 8, 2026, in Deer Park, Texas. Zaide was born on January 7, 1952, in Fort Stockton, Texas. She was the daughter of Ignacio & Bertha Franco. Known for her vibrant spirit and insatiable love of traveling, Zaide spent her life seeking out the beauty of this world. Whether she was visiting her favorite Texas spot, the Mayan Dude Ranch or planning for the next cruise out of Alaska, New York, or Miami with her husband and friends, her passport was as full as her heart.
She approached every destination—and every person she met—with warmth, grace, and an open mind. Her greatest adventure, however, was her family. She was an incredible guide, teacher, and anchor for her loved ones, instilling in them a deep appreciation for culture, connection, and making memories.
Zaide is survived by her husband, Robert of 55 years; her two children, Wednesday and her husband, Paul McCall and Travis and wife, Kathy Josey; her six grandchildren, Tyler, Morgan, Taylor, Jetta, Mallory, Miranda; Great Grandchild, Braxton and a large, loving extended family.
Until we meet again, rest in peace. We love you always and we honor her legacy by taking a trip somewhere new and embracing the journey.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 12, 2026, at 3pm at Deer Park Funeral Directors, located at 336 E. San Augustine Deer Park, TX 77536. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to attend and share their favorite memories of her.
